For 2025, the word is "Reduce."
Over the last two years, I have found a lot of clarity by choosing a single word to guide my focus.
In 2023, it was "Move," a reminder to take action, even when the path felt uncertain.
In 2024, "Reframe" helped me see challenges in a new light and focus on the lessons behind them.
Now, for 2025, "Reduce" feels like the right next step.
After almost 15 years in Vancouver, I have accumulated far more than I need. It is not just equipment and belongings, but also commitments, distractions, and mental clutter that have quietly built up.
Over time, I noticed how much energy I was spending on things that no longer served a purpose. I was tracking unused items, maintaining what was unnecessary, and holding on to what I had long outgrown.
In 2024, I began the process of letting go. I started selling things I no longer use, giving away items that could serve others better, and most importantly, freeing up mental space.
With each decision to reduce, I felt lighter and clearer. This process became less about decluttering and more about reclaiming focus and living with intention.
This year, I am taking it further. The reason I chose "Reduce" for 2025 is simple: I want to focus on what truly matters. For me, that means spending quality time with my family, buying only what we truly need, and channeling my energy into three areas of life: being healthy, building wealth, and staying happy.
Reducing is not about loss. It is about making room for clarity, for growth, and for the things that bring true joy and meaning. It is about removing the distractions and noise so I can fully invest in what aligns with my values and goals.
Every item I let go of, every unnecessary commitment I release, and every piece of drama I leave behind brings me closer to that vision. This process has already transformed how I think about time, energy, and priorities.
As I move through 2025, "Reduce" will be my compass. It will guide me to simplify, focus, and let go of what no longer matters.
P.S. What would you reduce in your life this year?
