Last week, I sent a cease and desist letter.
It was the second time I’ve had to do this since founding Alpha Chromatica.
I believe in protecting the truth, both the work I did and the work we continue at Alpha Chromatica.
This is my resignation letter, submitted on June 15, 2023.
For the public record:
– I wasn’t fired.
– I wasn’t laid off.
– I resigned.
Before submitting this letter, I compiled a 100-page dossier, including unaltered screenshots, audio, and video recordings of everything that transpired and consulted one of Canada’s top employment lawyers.
After reviewing the materials, I was advised to walk away and start something for myself.
And so I did. I founded Alpha Chromatica alongside former students who believed in a more accessible (fully remote), focused, and mentorship-based approach to VFX compositing.
I stayed quiet for a long time.
And in doing so, I unfortunately allowed others to shape the story on Reddit.
But no longer.
Names and the reasons for my resignation have been redacted out of respect for privacy and professionalism.
This is just documentation.
