After getting our matchmove data locked down, it's time to add some extra magic: tire smoke. This isn’t just about throwing in any smoke simulation; it’s about integrating a photo-realistic, dynamic element that enhances the believability of the shot.
Exciting news! I've reached out to a former colleague to help supervise the FX work that Lincoln Dupree is handling. It’s one thing to know Houdini; it’s another to really know Houdini, and my colleague certainly fits the bill.
Lincoln finally gets to talk to someone who truly knows their stuff, instead of just hearing a company full of compositors say, "Make it more... sexy."
This collaboration is a significant step forward for us, as it allows our team to learn from a seasoned FX instructor while fine-tuning the smoke effect to seamlessly integrate with the environment.
We're aiming for tire smoke that not only looks great but also reacts naturally to the car’s movement, the ground surface, and the lighting conditions.
As we move forward, I’ll be sharing updates on how these elements come together to create a more immersive and believable final shot.
Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes insights!
