On September 11, 2023, I gave my first-ever lesson at Alpha Chromatica Education (ACE). I can still remember the excitement, the uncertainty, and the drive to create something more meaningful. Something new. It feels like it was only yesterday, but in reality, it has been a year filled with challenges, triumphs, and more learning than I could have anticipated.
When I first announced Alpha Chromatica Education (ACE) I wrote: "In order for something new to come, something old must go. The last two months have given me a chance to reflect and start anew."
A year later, I’m proud to say we’ve done what we set out to do. Our school isn’t just a virtual classroom - it’s a testament to perseverance, to daring to dream, and to committing to something bigger than ourselves.
A Promise Fulfilled
When I was younger, my Tamil teacher asked me what my dream was. I remember telling her about my father, who worked tirelessly at Shell Eastern Petroleum since he was 16 to provide for our family. I didn’t want to let him down, and I said, "I’m good with computers. Maybe, someday, I’ll have my own computer business."
Today, I think I’ve made good on that promise. Alpha Chromatica Education (ACE) isn’t just a school; it’s a dream realized. A place where my love for computers, art, and mentoring others has come together in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I know my father is proud of what we’ve built; after all, he was my first investor.
It Wasn’t Just Me - It Was Us
I may have started this journey, but I certainly didn’t do it alone. I am immensely grateful to my co-founders, Andrew Zeller and Elmoatasem Ragab, well as our incredible team, Q Park, Kuan Tsai, Kseniya Vtorykh, Lincoln Dupree, Tananuch Phosri and Geetha Gangathanam.
You believed in the dream when it was just an idea, and together, we’ve turned it into a place that inspires, challenges, and elevates.
To everyone who helped shape Alpha Chromatica, you know who you are. We built something great, and we did it by relying on each other’s strengths, pushing through the tough days, and sharing in our victories.
To date, we’ve taught and graduated 5 students, are currently teaching 8 more and have recorded over 2,400 videos - totaling 920 hours of content!
It’s been a remarkable journey.
The First Company Photo
Last November, we tried to take our first group photo for Alpha Chromatica. We were losing light, and Asuha took it upon herself to gather everyone and shoot a photo. It’s not perfect, but it’s us. It’s a moment in time when we stood together as a team. I look back at that photo, and I’m reminded of how far we’ve come in just one year - and how much further we’ll go together.
