In this segment of my interview with Q Park - now a talented compositor credited on this year’s summer blockbuster Deadpool and Wolverine - we dove headfirst into one of the weirdest debates in filmmaking:
When does a bold creative choice cross the line from genius to just plain strange?
Q noticed this bokeh effect in every shot of a zombie movie he had watched on Netflix, and once he saw it, he couldn’t unsee it. You’ve probably been there too - where one weird element in a film hijacks your brain.
Of course, I’ve got my own thoughts on this, but I’m not spilling just yet.
Let’s just say it led us down a rabbit hole involving some big names and their even bigger creative swings.
