Sleepy Baby Samurai and the Magic Painting

I had a spike in book sales this past January: 𝟮𝟰 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 instead of my current monthly average of 6. That's a 300% increase! I am unsure why; I did nothing to boost them and no longer pay for Amazon ads. If you’re responsible for any of those sales, thank you. I feel encouraged to keep working on my next book.

𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙮 𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙮 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙞 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙋𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 is a children’s picture book I wrote and self-published in June 2021. The most rewarding aspect beyond collaborating with Duha Lee (my amazing illustrator) has been receiving messages, pictures, and videos showing how families read the book together. I never expected to sell more than 𝟴𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 (or even 100) and we’ve already passed that milestone. I just wanted to tell a story with beautiful art that my family, friends, and their kids could enjoy.

It took us about half a year to create the book. We poured a lot into it. Here’s a book trailer I assembled using Nuke for compositing and VEGAS Pro for editing in collaboration with a Japanese voice actress.
