We had a lot of fun filming an unconventional interview with my former student, Hiroka Oizumi, about her experience taking the Alpha Chromatica online Compositing course. Hiroka stood by her suitcase in Tokyo-Narita International Airport and took a deep breath. She was leaving stable work in I.T. to study VFX Compositing full-time in Vancouver, Canada. The school she chose was relatively new, small, and only offers an online compositing program. What inspired her bold leap of faith? How does she feel about her choice now as she approaches graduation? And what advice would she offer to others interested in learning compositing or studying abroad?
