Most training programs are built around fixing weaknesses. Learn the tools you don't know. Cover the gaps in your pipeline experience. Round yourself out until you're hirable across as many contexts as possible.
There's practical value in that, and I've taught that way myself.
But the artists who built careers that were genuinely their own didn't do it by eliminating weaknesses. They did it by developing their strengths to a level that made the weaknesses largely irrelevant. They became so clear and capable in a specific area that the industry came looking for exactly what they had.
Spending the majority of your development time on the things you're already drawn to and already good at is not laziness. It's a strategic decision about where your effort will compound fastest.
You are not here to become a more balanced, averaged-out version of yourself. You're here to find what you do that nobody else does quite the same way, and build that into something undeniable.
