In most cases, the next step is already visible. It's just closer and less dramatic than expected.

The work that needs to be done is usually right in front of you. The skill that needs another month of focused practice. The reel that's almost ready but keeps getting postponed. The application you've been meaning to send since the beginning of the year.

Waiting for a future version of your circumstances to be better before you begin is one of the more reliable ways to stay exactly where you are.

What you already have is enough to start. What's already in front of you is enough to move.
